3:20 HAVANA GOLD is a great bet at 7/1 in today’s Irish 2000 guineas. I think he is overpriced and should be near 4-1 – 9-2 mark.
This horse has done nothing but impress in his short career. As a 2 year old he mature enough to travel to France and win races and Went unbeaten in all finished races until his last race of the season where he only went down a head to Ghurair.
He has returned as a 3 year old this year and he looks bigger and stronger and even better horse. He has lost both starts this season but they were still both top run quality. First outing if the season was at Newmarket. He went down 4 lengths to the very impressive TORANADO. Hannon thinks the winner is an amazing horse and holds him as one of the best he has ever trained, so for me that is not bad form at all. 3rd in that same race was dunnodell who went on to win last weekend when he was one of our tips.
HAVANA GOLD next run was in France for the 2000 guineas. I was really impressed by this effort and although he only finished 5th that run was better than the basic form reads. He was only beaten by 1/4 of a length and at one point I thought he had the race. The speed he showed to come from last to first in a 18 runner race was electric. He basically just got pipped on the line. If he re produces this run today he will definately be involved. 7/1 is huge.
