May 2018 Review
5 out of 5 months in profitYou are here: Home / Latest Thoughts /
Another profitable month and that is 5 months from 5 in profit in 2018 with 7 points profit. Not huge profit but profit nonetheless. Went on a run of 39 without a winner but within those 39 we had 10 E/W returns, we were simply out of luck but it was only a matter of time things would turn.
May was a game of 2 halves and I really had to dig deep in the 2nd half the month to turn things around in good style. On the 16th May we were sitting at a 16 point loss which tells you just how good our form has been since, from the 16th May – 31st May we are 23 points in profit. Even into June we have made a further 11 points profit.
I simply remained calm and composed as I knew I was doing all the right things as all our horses were running well with 25% hitting the frame at decent odds, for the first half of the month.
Was I happy with the performance in May?
If it was a normal steady month then I would not be happy with 7 points profit but given the fact I really dug deep and turned it around for everyone, I am very happy with my performance. As a tipster it is hard when you go on a losing run and others would lose discipline and composure if they went on the run I did at the start of May.
I hope I have shown you all that I am the ultimate professional in the work I produce and since 16th May we are still going strong into June. Losing runs are going to happen in this game but it is all about the long term game and we are now going into June in a strong position to make it 6 months from 6 in profit.
May performance in detail
Number of bets = 97 bets
Number of winners = 15 winners
Number of E/W returns = 15 E/W returns
Biggest price winner = Gifted Master at 16/1
The month actually started well and 5 days in we were on 3 winners which included 16/1 winner Gifted Master. Our undoing was at the Chester Festival. We normally smash the festivals and are widely known in the industry for our amazing festivals.
At Chester we did not have a single winner but we did have 20 selections and 10 of those were E/W returns. To have 10 E/W returns and not hit a winner was quite extraordinary. We basically had a 50% strike rate which tells us how close we were. By the 15th May we were at a 16 points loss. I felt in good shape and our horses were running well so to be 16 points down, I felt a bit hard done by.
The 16th May was the turning point and since then we had 12 winners and 5 E/W returns from 50 selections.
The York Dante Festival was absolutely amazing and from 18 selections we had 4 winners and 4 E/W returns.
The great form has continued since then with 7 winners and even into June where we are already 11 points in profit.
What is coming up in June?
As mentioned we are already 11 points in profit for June and Royal Ascot is just around the corner starting on the 19th June. We have a busy month in which I am confident we will make huge profits. The flat season is well underway and the horses are fit with a few runs under their belts. If I am being honest June, July and August are the easiest months to a profit in my opinion as most horses run to form provided they get decent ground. As long as the rain holds off I believe we are in for our best month of the year so far.
Kind Regards
