We are back with one tip today from Sha Tin. I hope you were all on 6/1 winner, This Is Class, on Wednesday at Happy Valley and hopefully we can follow up with another today.
Once again we have chosen the main race which is at 10:45am UK Time.
10:45am Sha Tin
PERFECT MATCH – 13/2 generally – E/W (4 places)
GOOD STANDING 16/1 generally – E/W (4 places)
Just like midweek I have narrowed the race down to four horses. Beauty Legacy, Star Shine, PERFECT MATCH and GOOD STANDING.
Beauty Legacy is the right favourite but is short enough at 10/3, especially carrying top weight. He disappointed last month at this course despite going off short favourite. He is down in trip which should help but as mentioned above, it is all about the price which is not right given his most recent run. Trainer has not had a winner in April but did have 3 winners at this course back on March 29th, so still within a 14 day period.
Star Shine has been running consistently well in these types of races this season, at this level over course and distance. He should once again be involved but for me looks destined for a place yet again. He is on the same handicap as last time (87) and he was beaten fair and square by 3 1/2 lengths over course and distance. Trainer has had winners in all meetings at either Sha Tin or Happy Valley in April.
GOOD STANDING is overpriced at 16/1. He was a winner at this course last May and a very good winner at that. He won a better race than today’s by an easy 2 lengths off a mark of 99. He has run some decent races since but looks to have been in the handicappers grip, running off marks of 108 and 107, since that win back in May. He has slowly come down the handicap and is now back to his last winning mark of 99. He is down in class from his last race which will obviously be appreciated and is drawn very well in stall 6. His trainer has had a couple of winners in April and for me everything points to a big run. E/W.
PERFECT MATCH also has a decent draw in stall 7. He was below par on his last start but that was over 6f and he is a horse who has always been better of 7f. On his two previous starts he was a winner over course and distance, including a race which was much hotter than todays. You have to expect him to be involved over his favourite trip and given how well he won here back in January, his mark of 95 looks workable. He is a horse who likes to get on with things so I expect to be leading with 5f to go. He had run 11 times at Sha Tin, winning 6 of them. He is clearly a course specialist. His trainer had a winner at Happy Valley on Wednesday so his horses are in good enough form.
Good Luck and stay safe
