Great day yesterday for our Free Tips with two winners from two selections. Limato was mighty impressive and I can’t actually believe why he was sent off 5/1, given he is 3 from 4 at Newmarket over 7f. The traders will be embarrassed and will certainly have a face like a LIMATO. (sorry I had to).

 

Our other selection was Santiago who battled on gamely to win by a neck. He only ran 8 days ago at Royal Ascot when winning. It shows he is a very tough horses to win two group races in 8 days and I think he is a Gold Cup horse in he making.

SHARJAH 6/1 generally – 0.75 POINTS E/W (5 places, 1/5 odds)
A very competitive handicap over 2 miles but I am all over SHARJAH here. You are talking about a horse who was 2nd in the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March. The ground was not in his favour that day either but he still managed a 2nd. He now runs on the flat on a tiny mark of 92 which compared to his mark of 164 over jumps, he looks seriously well handicapped. There is some rain forecast at the Curragh but at worst it is going to be good to soft ground which would be perfect for the horse. This looks a weak handicap by his standards and although he has to transfer hurdles form to the flat, there is no denying his class. E/W.
