BLESS HIM 16/1 generally – 0.75 POINTS E/W (4 places, 1/5 odds)
 
We have two selections in this race.
 
A very competitive handicap but the two I have landed on are SIR BUSKER and BLESS HIM.
SIR BUSKER has had 3 starts this season and has 2 wins to his name and a 2nd. In all honesty it should really be 3 wins. His first win was on the All Weather at Newcastle when beating subsequent winner Dark Vision. He then went to Ascot and won the Silver Royal Hunt Cup in good style. His final start was 3 weeks ago when 2nd to the classy Motakhayyel at Newmarket in the Bunbury Cup. I actually think he was unlucky not to win that day. He had to come wide throughout with the eventual winner getting first run, he came with a run down the outside and was hampered, yet still found another gear to challenge inside the final furlong. He has gone up the handicap but to me he looks like he could be a group horse and certainly looked to have more left in the tank. I would be surprised if he couldn’t make the first four. E/W.

 

I have been following BLESS HIM closely this season and he will not have a better opportunity than winning than this. Everything is literally perfect for the horse. The ground means everything to BLESS HIM and needs it as fast as he can get it. With the weather predicted to be 28C tomorrow, no rain overnight or tomorrow, the ground is going to be really fast. This will suit him massively, as will the fast pace in a handicap. This is a horse who beat Lord North last season easily and gave him weight. He has been entered in group 1s and 2s this season, including a group 2 on Tuesday at Goodwood but was made a non runner, to be kept for this race. He has come down the handicap a few pounds and just like Sir Busker is a group horse running in a handicap. Tom Marquand on board is a big clue also. Quietly confident. E/W.
