PORTRUSH TED 9/2 generally – 1 POINT WIN
I have always been a big fan of PORTRUSH TED and last season I said how well handicapped I believed he was. He is an 8 year old now who has had his fair share of problems but is a very talented horse. He was a winner of the Grade 2 Bumper back in April 2018 at Aintree and then the following summer, August 2018 made an impressive start on his hurdles debut, winning by 17 lengths. His next start didn’t come until January 2020 as he had an injury which meant he spent 519 days off the track. It was a winning start over a trip probably short of his best. His next ws then at Haydock a month later where he was a faller at the last when still bang there. I believe he would have won as all he does is stay and I am confident he would have grinded the race out to the line. He was not seen again with the season stopping in after the Cheltenham Festival, something I believe will be a blessing in disguise. I really think he could progress into a Stayers Hurdle outsider this season which means, I believe he is at least 10lb and more better than his mark of 139. It is his first start of the season so he is entitled to progress, nonetheless he is the one to beat. WIN.

SUMMERVILLE BOY 11/4 generally – 1 POINT WIN
SUMMERVILLE BOY for me is the horse to beat here. He is a former winner of the Supreme Novice Hurdle and a winner of last year’s Relkeel Hurdle at Cheltenham in December. Following his win in the Relkeel Hurdle was campaigned with the Stayers Hurdle in mind and on his first start over hurdles, he finished an excellent 2nd to Paisley Park in the Cleeve Hurdle. His next start came in the Stayers Hurdle where he came home a respectable 5th of 15. For me he is a horse who doesn’t quite stay 3 miles but does not have the speed for 2m, which means this trip of 2m 4f is absolutely perfect. He is a class act and has to be thereabouts. WIN.

Good Luck
