The Punchestown Festival is here and I cannot wait to see some of the clashes today, most notably Envoi Allen and Monkfish, just mouthwatering.

SCHOLASTIC 8/1 generally – 0.75 POINTS E/W (7 places Sky Bet, 6 places William Hill)
A very competitive handicap hurdle one in which I think SCHOLASTIC has to be thereabouts off a handicap mark of 123. She has run some good races this season, most notably behind Jeff Kidder at the start of the month, a horse who won the Boodles Hurdle at the Cheltenham. SCHOLASTIC came home 3rd and ran a very good race against some decent sorts. She then went to Cheltenham for the April meeting and travelled like the winner before getting tired up the hill to come home 2nd to Her Indoors, with the 3rd a further 7 lengths back. The key to this horse is good ground which she gets here and she also has decent form around Punchestown. She beat Jeff Kidder who we mentioned above, back in September by 6 lengths. She then came home 2nd to Quilixios in October and that horse went and won the Triumph Hurdle. I can see SCHOLASTIC improving again and the price of 8/1 looks decent value.
