We could only manage a 2nd on yesterdays free tips. Hopefully we can find a winner today in the Chester Cup.
We have tips in 4 races today and are giving away one of those races for free:
*PRICES CORRECT AT THE TIME OF SENDING LAST NIGHT*
2:45 Chester
WHO DARES WINS 12/1 with Paddy Power and Betfair – 0.75 POINTS E/W (5 places, 1/5 odds)
FALCON EIGHT 7/1 generally – 0.75 POINTS E/W (5 places, 1/5 odds)
I often talk about solid bets and WHO DARES WINS is a very solid bet and pretty much as solid as it gets. He is a horse who loves it around Chester and in particular the Chester Cup. He has run in this race 3 times in the past in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and has never run a bad race.
In 2017 he came home 4th of 17, beaten just 1 1/2 lengths. In 2018 he came home 3rd of 16 from a bad draw in 15 while in 2019 he came home 2nd, again from a bad draw in 12. This is the first time in 4 attempts that the draw has been kind to with him being drawn in 3. Tom Marquand is sure to make full use of his lovely draw and for the first time in 3 years, get him in a nice position from the off.
He has always placed in this race so at the very least I expect him to make us some each way profit but for perseverance and the fact that if you keep trying in the end you will succeed, this really could be his year. With question marks against some of the leaders in the market with regards to the draw, I am all over the 12/1 available and the fact we have Tom Marquand in the saddle, who in my opinion is the best in the business apart from Dettori and certainly the strongest in a finish. E/W.
FALCON EIGHT may be top weight but on a mark of 104 he could still be very well handicapped. Interestingly he has been gelded over the winter and I am a great believer that their first start back is often the time to catch them after being gelded. FALCON EIGHT is a group horse running in a handicap here and with Frankie on board, he has to go close. It is interesting that this is Frankie Dettori’s only ride of the day so I imagine this race has been the plan for a while. Dermot Weld is a shrewd operator and he would not be sending this over from Ireland to make up the numbers, he is all out to win. The trainer has tried to win this race in the past and came close in 2015 when Zafayan came home 3rd. He also followed that up with a 3rd in 2016 with Silver Concorde also coming home 3rd.
FALCON EIGHT should go very close here and is drawn in 10 so straight down the middle.
Good Luck
