*PRICES CORRECT AT THE TIME OF SENDING LAST NIGHT*
2:25 Newmarket
EBRO RIVER 7/1 generally – 0.5 POINTS E/W (4 places William Hill and Sky Bet)
PROJECT DANTE 10/3 generally – 1 POINT WIN
Two horses I have in my notebook from Royal Ascot and I am massively confident one of them can go in.
EBRO RIVER ran a cracking race in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot to come home 5th of 17, running on the wrong side of the track. The better ground was from those drawn high so to come home 5th drawn in 1, was a very solid performance.
He travelled through the race like the best horse in the race and at one stage got his head in front before those running on the quicker side of the course came through to lead.
On his penultimate start he was an easy winner at Sandown and I believe we still haven’t seen the best of this horse. I would be surprised if he did at least place here.
PROJECT DANTE really should have won the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot and I really think he was the one of the most unlucky losers at the festival. He travelled like a very good horse throughout the race but got caught in a pocket of horses, before running on to grab 3rd when the gaps opened. When that happens over the short 5f, it really is hard to get going and win the race. He still only went down by 1/4 of a length and now stepped up to 6f, he is only going to get better.
I think trainer Bryan Smart has a really smart horse on his hands and I would not be surprised to see this horse win by a couple of lengths.
His form was boosted in Ireland last week as Go Bears Go won a group 2 very easily. WIN.
Good Luck
