A big day for us today after winning the Scoop 6 last weekend for our share of £57k. Today we go for our free shot at the Bonus in search of £209k. We have to keep our cards close to our chest until 2pm, the final cut off for entry so we will send an email out with our selection for the race, so everyone can cheer him home.

3:00 Haydock
A PLUS TARD 13/8 generally – 2 POINT WIN
I really fancy A PLUS TARD to win this race and although short at 13/8, I actually make him a 5/4 chance. Bristol De Mai loves this race and is looking to win it for the 4th time, trouble is the ground is very close to good and he will want it softer. The last time he ran in this race on similar ground, he was beaten by Lostintranslation. He is a year older now and is a 10 year old. Surely he is now on the decline. Back to A PLUS TARD is astonishingly still only a 7 year old. He was 2nd in last season’s Gold Cup at Cheltenham and a winner of the Savills Chase over the Xmas period. The ground will be absolutely perfect and I can’t imagine Henry De Bromhead is bringing him over from Ireland to get him fit. He will be fully wound up for this and is the classiest horse in the race by some way. Rachael Blackmore comes over from Ireland to ride the horse and it will be her only ride at Haydock tomorrow. Very confident he will be too good and I am actually expecting even more improvement this season, given he is still only 7. WIN.
