THIRD TIME LUCKI 15/8 generally – 1.5 POINTS WIN
I am quietly confident THIRD TIME LUCKI can turn the form around with Edwardstone here from when the pair met at Sandown on THIRD TIME LUCKI penultimate start. I rate Edwardstone, don’t get me wrong, but THIRD TIME LUCKI got his tactics all wrong that day, going from the front in soft ground, with a stiff uphill finish, playing right into the hands of Edwardstone. It is going to be a good race but with different tactics on different ground, I think the result will be different this time around. I may get egg on my face, we shall see, but as always I will just wipe it off and we will go again but ultimately I trust my analysis and more so the way I read a race. Last time out at Doncaster we saw totally different tactics from THIRD TIME LUCKI where he sat at the back and let them take him along. It was actually another of today’s runners in For Pleasure who took them along at a nice pace so that is pretty much guaranteed in this race, but he won in a canter. Now throw in Brave Seasca who also likes to front run and the pace is going to be frantic. I am expecting Harry Skelton to sit quietly out the back once again and let the front runners take him into the race, swinging away coming to the last before quickening on inside the final furlong. He is a horse who has so much speed and give him decent ground which he will encounter today and he has the speed to burn these away. When looking at a race and the pace of how you want it to be run for your tip, it does not get any better here. He jumps for fun, he is a smooth traveller and I think after this race he will throw himself right into the Arkle mix, possibly favourite.
This is a top class race where eyes will be on THIRD TIME LUCKI and Edwardstone, may the best horse win, hopefully ours and it stops those eggs being thrown….
