Thursday 7th July Free Tips
Today we are giving out free tips in 2 tips in one race.
3:00 Newmarket
DEODAR 9/1 generally – 0.5 POINTS E/W (6 places, 1/5 odds)
INGRA TOR 8/1 generally – 0.5 POINTS E/W (6 places, 1/5 odds)
We have 2 selections in this race.
Having previous replays of today’s race it seems that those drawn high have fared well when the going has been good to firm. It also appears that the pace of the race will come from that side of the course with Twelfth Knight (drawn 12) and Lethal Levi (drawn 14).
DEODAR is drawn in 16 and is fitted with first time blinkers. Trainer Ralph Beckett has an excellent record over the last 2 years when fitting his horses with blinkers for the first time (33% place strike rate) so this bodes well for our selection. His Dam is a group 3 winner so we know he is bred to be decent. DEODAR has had just 4 career starts and 2 wins to his name. He was a winner first time up at Doncaster and then 3rd at this course at the end of June when sent off 5/4 fav. I do think he is a much better horse than what we saw that day and the blinkers on should help him concentrate and see out his race, rather than look around. He is a horse who is still progressing and on a mark of 93 he could be ahead of the handicapper. Given he has plenty of pace around him and is a horse who likes to travel, a big handicap could really suit him and help him settle. I am expecting to see him travel supremely well and it will all depend on what he finds inside the final furlong. The booking of Ryan Moore is a real eye-catcher and he can improve a horse a good few pounds, more often than not. E/W.
INGRA TOR is another lightly raced 3 year old who has had 4 runs so far this season, coming away with 2 wins. He was mighty impressive 2 starts back at Newmarket on the Rowley Mile, when easily brushing aside Harry Three who has since gone on to win 2 races and is now rated a huge 107. INGRA TOR runs off a mark of 91 and although last time out he was beaten by Harry Three when the pair met again, you can’t help but think that wasn’t his true showing. I am confident he is a better horse than that and once again with the pace being with those drawn high, with him drawn in 15, he should get a lovely toe into the race. Tom Marquand has been booked to ride which again is very eye-catching. E/W.
Good Luck
