3:00 Newmarket
SAM COOKE 18/1 generally – 0.5 POINTS E/W (6 places, 1/5 odds)
The key to SAM COOKE is the pace and if the pace is around him. He is drawn in 16 so with the pace coming Mandoob and Tribal Art in 14 and 16, he will get the pace he needs meaning he is going to settle. If he settles in the first part of the race then you know he will run a nice race as he is the type of horse who can lose the race over the first couple of furlongs. He has had 2 runs this season and last time out ran a cracker to come home 6th of 13 staying on strongly inside the final furlong over 1m 5f. He is now up to 1m 6f and I believe at the age of 6, that is exactly what he wants these days. He ran in this race in 2020 and was sent off 7/2 favourite. He is a better horse than he was back then so the price is 18/1 is very much overpriced. E/W.

MUMS TIPPLE 11/1 generally – 0.75 POINTS E/W
MUMS TIPPLE is now down to a mark of 92 and is running in the lowest grade race (Class 3) he has ever run in. We were on him at a big price at Royal Ascot where he tried to make it all. He got tired in the last furlong but it was a game effort. Sean Levey is back in the saddle and I can’t help but think if he is to get back to winning ways, it will be in a race like this off his lowest ever handicap mark. This time last year he was rated a 20lb better horse so this is a big drop in the handicap. Has run some decent races over this course in the past and another who for me is overpriced. E/W.
