THE REVENANT 6/1 William Hill and Bet 365 – 1 POINT WIN
We are taking on the short priced favourite Inspiral who will be hard to beat given the fillies and 3 year old allowance she gets, but she is not unbeatable as showed back in July when beaten at Newmarket. She did go and win at Deauville in August but that was only by a neck. I am going to take her on with THE REVENANT won won this race back in 2020. He also finished 2nd in 2019 and was 4th to Baaeed last year in this race. He comes here after finishing 3rd in a group 1 at Longchamp back in September and 2nd a group 2 also at Longchamp, 2 weeks ago. The booking of Ryan Moore is clearly eye-catching as is the little bit of cut in the ground. At the price he is decent value.

ORRISDALE 10/3 generally – 1 POINT WIN
Our only National Hunt bet of the day is ORRISDALE. The way I am reading this race is the first 3 in the market are possibly too high in the handicap whereas ORRISDALE who is rated 133, may still have a few more pounds improvement. The Jonjo O’Neill trained horse handicap mark of 133, is probably just a little short of your Paddy Power Gold Cup in November and for that reason if they want to run in your top handicap’s, the mark will need to go up a little. He was a good winner on his final 2 starts last and his last win was off 130. To the eye he looked like he had a bit more in his locker than the 3lb he has been raised which means I think he is ahead of the handicapper. With a clear round of jumping he has to go close. WIN.
