A lovely free tip winner today with Kilcruit who won with a bit in hand, as I expected really.

Tomorrow is the last day of the National Hunt Season and that is another National Hunt Season in profit, making it 15 from 15. A record I am very proud of and there are not many around, if any, who can say they have been making profit for 15 years.

From Sunday we switch over to the Flat Season Package which will run until 5th October. We are heading into the Flat Season with a record of 13 from the last seasons in profit, looking to make it 14 from 15.

4:15 Punchestown

KILCRUIT 4/1 generally – 1 POINT WIN
KILCRUIT has been saved for the Punchestown Festival and he will come here in tip top shape. It is not an after thought, this is his gold cup race. He has not done bad over fences in 3 starts this season with a win on debut and then he was stepped up to Grade 1 company, coming home 3rd to Gerri Colombe, not beaten far, and that horse has gone on to great things since. He then went to Leopardstown for at the Dublin Racing Festival and ran an ok race behind Mighty Potter. That was the last we saw him but he returns here at a course he absolutely loves. His Punchestown record is exceptional and reads 1141 with only defeat at the course coming against State Man, as a novice hurdler last season.
He now lines up here in a handicap and I am confident he is a better horse than a handicapper. 
Willie Mullins has won this race 6 out of the last 7 years with similar horses to KILCRUIT. 
If we were going into this race in a bit better form, he could easily have been a raised stake but we bet accordingly. WIN.
