PULL AGAIN GREEN 18/1 generally – 0.5 POINTS E/W (5 places, 1/5 odds)
PULL AGAIN GREEN looks a huge price and one I can’t look away from. He is up to 3 miles for the first time and although I am a little unsure whether he will stay 3 miles, it is worth taking the risk. As a novice last year he was winning over 2m 4f so a year older and wiser, you have to imagine 3 miles is within his range and it might even bring out improvement. The Fergal O’Brien trained horse is now rated 129 and has plummeted down the handicap from the start of the season when rated 138. They are even putting Jack Hogan in the saddle with a 5lb claim, which brings his handicap mark down to 124. Surely off 124 he has to have a right chance. The weather at Haydock is nice today and tomorrow and with the temperature reaching 20C tomorrow, it should dry out lovely. The only question he has to pass for me is staying the trip and if he does, off 124, he should not be out of the frame. E/W.

MOUNTAIN SONG 4/1 generally – 1 POINT WIN
MOUNTAIN SONG is massively well in on the weights. She is rated 86 but she gets 3 year old weight allowance and she gets mares weight allowance. If she was a colt and a 4 year old she would have to carry 9st 6lb, so basically on the terms we have mentioned above, she is nearly 1st well in. This is some lovely planning by Charlie Appleby and if she does not go very close, something is massively wrong in my opinion. She has had 4 career starts, all in 2023 as a 3 year old and she is clearly a horse with plenty of progression. She is yet to run on turf and only the all Weather but her breeding tells me she should be an even better horse on turf. She was a winner last month at Southwell so she has now learned how to get her head in front and I think MOUNTAIN SONG should be a clear favourite. WIN.
Good Luck
