No Joy on yesterdays free tips unfortunately. I was surprised Oisin Murphy didn’t kick him on and make the running on Coltrane. He is a horse who needs a strong pace and ultimately a stayer. The race went at a crawl and he was never going to win a race which involved a sprint. Not the greatest moment from Oisin Murphy.
Our other selection ran well but just couldn’t reel them in.

SANDRINE 9/2 generally – 1 POINT WIN
Quite surprised SANDRINE is only 4th best in the market for this and I can see some huge value. She started the season well with a 2nd to Sacred at Lingfield before a couple of lacklustre performances, although they were at Group 1 level where she was simply outclassed. She bounced back last time out at York when an excellent 3rd to Kinross in a Group 2. She was a short head behind another of today’s runners in Audience but did head her and the rest of the field inside the last furlong. I think Oisin Murphy probably got to the front too soon that day and if he held onto her a bit longer, she may well have won. I expect SANDRINE to travel nicely through this race and for Oisin Murphy to hold on to her until the last furlong, before being sent to win her race. She has an electric turn of foot and if used at the right time, she has the ability to put the race to bed in a matter of strides. WIN.
3:35 Doncaster
CONTINUOUS 7/2 generally – 1.25 POINTS WIN
DESERT HERO 11/2 generally – 1 POINT WIN
I could not split these pair so I have been left with no option but to go in double handed. I can only see the winner coming from these two so as long as one of them wins, we come away with a nice profit. I am happy to take on Arrest as he looks a quirky horse and not the easiest ride in the world. CONTINUOUS also easily beat Gregory last time out so I am confident that form holds up once again.
CONTINUOUS won the Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at York and he didn’t just win it, he won it with ease. He was going away at the line and he shaped the whole way through the race like a step up in trip would bring out even more improvement. This 1m 6f should be right up his street and Ryan Moore has chosen this horse over the other 3 Aiden O’Brien horses. CONTINUOUS has to go close. WIN.
DESERT HERO is improving fast and last time out won a Group 3 at Goodwood. Although he only won by a neck, he travelled supremely well and if the gaps came earlier, he would have won by a lot further. The further they went the further he was going away at the line. The trip last out was 1m 4f and had it been 1m 6f, he would have won by 10 lengths. This step up to 1m 6f is going to bring out the very best in him. He is tough and genuine and although he has to raise his game again, he has all the attributes to win a St Leger. This game is all about great stories and the King having his first classic winner in such a short space of time, is sure to go down well. WIN.
