Free Horse Racing TIps

You are here: Home / Free Horse Racing TIps / Free Tips – Wednesday 27th December

I feel we were very unlucky yesterday with Shishkin. Some will agree, some will disagree no doubt but Shishkin kicked and went 2 lengths clear coming to the 2nd last fence. He jumped the 2nd last fence very well but a freak incident where his legs clipped forced Nico out of the saddle. I truly believe he would have kicked again and went 5 lengths clear coming to the last fence, my reasons behind that are how he finished his race in the Ryanair Chase and then at Aintree in the Bowl. He always finds at the end of the races and I believe this would have been no different.

Anyway we will never know but all I know is we had gone clear.

Hermes Allen was put in his place by what looks an absolute superstar, no excuses beaten by a monster of a horse.

2:50 Chepstow
COMPLETE UNKNOWN 7/1 generally – 1 POINT E/W (6 places, 1/5 odds)
THE BIG BREAKAWAY 12/1 generally – 0.375 POINTS E/W (6 places, 1/5 odds)

We have 2 selections in this race and back over at Chepstow for the Welsh National. The ground is surely going to be heavy and these two horses absolutely love deep ground.

My main bet of the race is COMPLETE UNKNOWN and I want a saver on THE BIG BREAKAWAY as I couldn’t bear to see him win and not have a small bit of interest in ideal conditions.

COMPLETE UNKNOWN is a horse who absolutely loves bottomless ground. The more rain the better for him, it is as simple as that. The Paul Nicholls horse will be ridden by Harry Cobden who were both unlucky today at Kempton with six 2nds. Although they didn’t find a winner, it shows his horses are in great form and I am sure they are knocking on the door for a big prize. COMPLETE UNKNOWN was quietly fancied in the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury at the start of the month but the ground went against him, with it being close to good ground. I am happy to put a line through that form as it wouldn’t have been his true running. Now returning back to soft ground, I am sure we will see a different horse and the step up in trip will also be appreciated. He looks like a horse who wants extreme tests and a course like Chepstow will really suit. The weight is obviously not ideal. but this is a weak looking Welsh National which I think will go to a horse with more class. E/W.

THE BIG BREAKAWAY is an old friend who nearly did us so well at big odds in this race last year. He came home 2nd in the race last year off a mark of 148 and he really took to the fences and the deep ground. This year he lines up on a 1lb lower mark of 147 and if I fancied him last year off a higher mark, then I have to fancy him this year. I think the booking of Adam Wedge is very interesting as he is a jockey who won the race on Secret Reprieve so knows exactly what it takes to win the race. He is a horse who either gets pulled up or goes and wins the race, it all depends which THE BIG BREAKAWAY turns up on the day but at the price I will take my chance. He is a huge horse and I would like to see him bowl along in front as he stays longer than the mother in law. E/W.

3:00 Leopardstown
JAMES DU BERLAIS 20/1 generally – 0.5 POINTS E/W (6 places, 1/5 odds)
Over at Leopardstown the rain is going to fall and that will not do JAMES DU BERLAIS any harm. He just looks a big price and one I want to get involved with. The Willie Mullins trained horse is still a 7 year old and I feel he has a nice prize in him. This is his first run over fences in a handicap after running in 4 grade 1 novice chases and 2 other novice chases. He is a classy enough horse who on a rating of 148 could be very well in. He came over from France with a big reputation and although he has not quite delivered what he promised, he still has the potential. He had his first run of the season at Thurles last month and although 4th of 6 to Classic Getaway, it was against some very good horses. He should be able to build on that and now up in trip with a first time tongue tie, he could outrun his huge odds. All his career wins have been on soft ground and with the bad weather on its way in Ireland, it only enhances his chances. E/W.

Good Luck
