1:45 Aintree
GIOVINCO 9/1 generally – 1 POINT E/W (2 places, 1/4 odds)
I am either mad or GIOVINCO is absolutely massively overpriced at 10/1. How have the bookies come to that price after he ran so well in the Brown Advisory Novice Chase. He travelled so well through the race at Cheltenham and only went down by 6 lengths to Fact To File who is near favourite for next years Gold Cup. I even think Aintree will suit GIOVINCO even better as it is a flat track and the way he travels through his races, with no undulations, it won’t catch him out.
Take nothing away from the field but Chianti Classico won Handicap at the Festival, the same with Inothewayyurthinkin. At least Lucinda Russell thought GIOVINCO was a Grade 1 horse from the off as she could have also run him in a handicap and the way he ran in the Brown Advisory Novice Chase, he may well of won the Ultima Handicap Chase.
GIOVINCO comes into the race with only one bad run this season and I think he is a very classy horse who will go very close here. I respect the others but the price of 10/1 is a gift in my eyes. E/W.
2:55 Aintree
DYSART ENOS 9/2 generally – 1 POINT WIN
I really like Mystical Power as a horse and no doubt he is the one to beat but I am not sure of the effects the Supreme Novice Hurdle will have on him. He had a hard race and although I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him win here, I think it could pay to side with the Fergal O’Brien trained DYSART ENOS. She comes here a fresh horse after missing Cheltenham and I fancied her that day only for her to be made a non runner. She also gets 7lb from the boys and that is a lot of weight for the others to give away. She has not run at this level over hurdles but she is more than up to it in my opinion. She also won as easily as you like around Aintree last season and at the price she has to be the bet of the race. I wouldn’t be surprised if she went and won, to see Paddy Brennan retire, what a way to go out. WIN.
Good Luck
