TRUE LOVE 5/2 generally – 1.5 POINTS WIN
I am all over TRUE LOVE here, hence the raised stake. We have to put a line through her form last time out in the Phoenix Stakes but I know she is better than that. In fact the horse who won prior to that, TRUE LOVE beat by 5 lengths on her penultimate start.
Our selection was also a winner at Royal Ascot and was only just beaten by Gstaad on her 2nd career start.
Had TRUE LOVE won last time out she would be a very short price here so given I think she was just having an off day, the 5/2 looks like decent value.
Aiden O’Brien won this last year with Lake Victoria and has also won the race 5 times in the last 10 years. WIN.

BRUSSELS 16/1 generally – 0.5 POINTS E/W
This is not going to be easy and I am taking a chance on BRUSSELS but I just think he is a horse who is still learning and still maturing. It is evident in the comments Aiden O’Brien makes about the horse ‘he is still babyish’. One of these days it is all going to click and the mature BRUSSELS is going to turn up. A first time tongue tie has been fitted and if he can find his form from back in July at this course when 4th to Zavateri, who has since gone on to win a group 1, he can run a nice race.
Obviously as the price suggests, the favourite will be very hard to beat but at the price and value on offer, I think BRUSSELS could surprise a few if he can find a bit of maturity. E/W.

TRIBAL CHIEF 12/1 generally – 0.75 POINTS E/W (6 places, 1/5 odds)
I have had my eye on TRIBAL CHIEF for this race for sometime, hoping he would land a high draw. We have got that draw in stall 20 and I am happy to raise the stake.
TRIBAL CHIEF beat today’s favorite last time out and beat him comfortably. We are even 3lb better off at the weights as that horse has since gone on to win again, boosting the form of TRIBAL CHIEF. How is our selection double the price?
I loved the way he won at Goodwood last time out and Sean Levey gave him 3 slaps and off he went to win the race well. He didn’t even need to give him a slap inside the final furlong, suggesting the horse had plenty left up his sleeve.
I like David Menussier as a trainer and when he has a good one, like I believe he does with TRIBAL CHIEF, he gets it right more than he does wrong.
With 6 places on offer the 12/1 is excellent value. E/W.
Good Luck
