THISTIMENEXTYEAR 20/1 with Paddy Power and Bet 365 – 0.5 POINTS E/W (5 places PP, 1/5 odds)

THISTIMENEXTYEAR looks way overpriced at 20/1. He is still only a 5 year old who is an improving sort and he gets in the race off a tiny mark of 127 with Darragh O’Keeffe claiming a further 7lb. He basically carries a tiny 9st 12lb and this looks another plot job in my opinion. He was a good 2nd to Chief Justice in a competitive handicap on his last start and was only beaten a head. You have to ask yourself what price would Chief Justice be in this race with Gordon Elliott as his trainer? I am sure he would be a lot shorter than 20/1. The point I am getting at is if this horse was trained by a bigger trainer than Richard Spencer, no way would he be 20/1. Richard Spencer is a shrewd trainer more known for his flat horses but a real shrewdie nonetheless. THISTIMENEXTYEAR has so much improvement to come and I am sure he will outrun his huge odds. E/W.
