Another festival over and another profitable one. That makes it 29/35 festivals in profit.
The real downer was our last day at the St Leger where we had a terrible day and undone much of the good work put in before. We still came away with 5 points profit and that is all you can ask for in this game but I still won’t hide my disappointment on the last day.
Anyway we have one more flat festival to go and that is the Cambridgeshire Festival from Newmarket.
The Cambridgeshire takes place on the 22nd September and runs for 3 days until the 24th September. It is action packed with quality racing with a total of 6 Group Races over the 3 days plus the Cambridgeshire Handicap.

ST LEGER FESTIVAL REVIEW
We came away with 3 winners with RICH LEGACY, SIMPLE VERSE and SHEIKZAYEDROAD doing the business.
RICH LEGACY improved as expected for the step up in trip and the 9/2 available the night before was a steal. I still think this horse has a lot more to offer and will continue to follow.
SIMPLE VERSE travelled really well throughout and if the gaps come earlier he would’ve won by further. I actually could not believe this horse was available at 9/2 the night before. You are talking about a horse who won the St Leger at this track last year yet was down in class for this and sent off at what I call, huge odds.
SHEIKZAYEDROAD won on the line and this was the race of the St Leger for me. The odds of 10/1 available the night before were ridiculous and he was sent off 10/3 in the end. His form on his previous 2 runs was rock solid so I couldn’t believe how underestimated he was. We will take that though.
I am going to leave it short and sweet this time as I haven’t really got any horses to follow for the St Leger, none that I think will step up when they face better horses.
Anyway guys just the 1 more flat festival and then it is on to the jumps. It has been a long flat season which by our standards has been quite flat. The excitement is now starting to build ready for the jumps and we have a great season ahead of us.
