Today all National Hunt Racing is off in the UK but Naas do race over in Ireland. Nothing stands out on that card but we have found one bet at Lingfield and Meydan which has been sent out to paying customers.
A bit different today on the free tips as we look towards the Cheltenham Festival and a horse I feel is way overpriced. I can see plenty of value in the bet.
Cheltenam is just over a month away and I am starting to get excited. It will obviously not be the same from home this year but even so, watching the best of the best over 4 days of top class racing, is always welcome in these times.
I am all out to make it 13 from 13 festivals in a row of profit with the Festival Special we run each year.
ANTE POST TIP BELOW
Cheltenham Festival Stayers Hurdle – Thursday
THE STORYTELLER 22/1 with Bet 365, 20/1 with William Hill – 0.5 POINTS E/W (3 places, 1/5 odds)
I think the 22/1 about THE STORYTELLER is absolutely huge given the form he is in this season and his versatility to switch between fences and hurdles. He is not entered the Cheltenham Gold Cup which pretty much confirms he will be going for this race.
He has been to Cheltenham 3 times and was a winner of the Brown Advisory Handicap Chase in 2018, he was pulled up in the Ryanair Chase in 2019 before coming home 2nd to Sire Du Berlais in the Pertemps Hurdle last season when travelling very strongly throughout.
Sire Du Berlais is 8/1 for this race yet THE STORYTELLER is 22/1 which makes no sense. In fact our selection has already finished in front of Sire Du Berlais this season.
THE STORYTELLER has run in 3 Grade 1s on his last 3 starts. They were a win at Down Royal in the Champion Chase back in October over 3 miles. He was then 2nd to Flooring Porter in the Christmas Hurdle before putting in a career best to come home 2nd to Kemboy in last weeks Irish Gold Cup. Even going back to the summer he won 3 races over hurdles and fences.
The horse is literally in the form of his life and given how well he ran last weekend against the likes of Kemboy, Minella Indo, Melon and Delta Work, when coming home 2nd, you would have to think he is in with a lively chance in this race. Imagine any of the names above running in this race, they would be way shorter than the 22/1 on offer.
He also loves it around Cheltenham and as I always say, when you run well at Cheltenham you keep coming back year in year out. Keith Donoghue knows this horse so well so I am sure he will be riding.
Come the day he will not be anywhere near the 22/1 which is available so snap it up while it is on offer. E/W.
Good Luck
