Trainer Sam Thomas has been in great form this season and that has continued over the last couple of weeks with his form reading 113212. He had a nice 11/1 winner yesterday and a 14/1 2nd today. His horses are in rude health.
NOT A ROLE MODEL is a good ground horse who is generally campaigned through the summer months. The return to decent ground is going to be appreciated, despite winning on soft ground last time out over hurdles. He was also a winner on his penultimate start at Wincanton over fences, this time on good ground.
He has won 5 times in his career with 4 of them coming on good ground, which tells the story.
I would not say he is a value bet as the price is about right but for me he has to go close.
The booking of Kevin Brogan is a very strong one and his 5lb claim is ideal. WIN.

PROSCHEMA 9/4 generally – 2 POINTS WIN
PROSCHEMA was well fancied for the Greatwood Hurdle at the Cheltenham but unfortunately the soft ground went against him. Dan Skelton has always said this horse needs proper racing ground which he gets here. I notice he also has an entry in the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and is joint favourite for that race as we speak. The trouble is he is on a mark of 131, he won’t get in the race if he stays on 131 so he has to win this race and win it well, to get in the County Hurdle. I would say he needs to go up to 135 to get in safely, although 133 would have got him the last two years.
He will be all out to win this race and I think he will go off very short when everyone cottons on. WIN.
