5:35 King George V Stakes
SISKANY 8/1 generally – 0.75 POINTS E/W (5 places, 1/5 odds)
I clearly think it is going to be a William Buick and Charlie Appleby kind of day given this is the 3rd selection by those pair. I was really taken by the performance of SISKANY when winning at Sandown last month where he won with so much in hand. The ground was soft that day so any rain will be welcome and we all know the forecast as we have spoken about it many times above. SISKANY is just getting better and better with each start and is 3 wins from 4 starts. The breeding looks very good as SISKANY is out of a Dartmouth half sister and Dartmouth was a previous winner at Royal Ascot. SISKANY is just such a lovely mover and at the price looks very good value. E/W.
6:10 Buckingham Palace Stakes
LORD CAMPARI 11/1 generally – 0.75 POINTS E/W (6 places, 1/5 odds)
Just the one selection here with LORD CAMPARI who could be so well in on a mark of 102. This is a group horse running in a handicap in my opinion. He was a very good winner on debut last season and then went on to mix it at group level, on one occasion sent off a tiny evens favourite at Newmarket. His final start last season was in France and he wasn’t beaten far into 5th. He has had one start this season when running in the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes. He ran a respectable race to come home 5th at huge odds of 50/1, in a race won by Palace Pier. They clearly think the world of him to run him in a group 1 like the Lockinge. Now he is back in handicap company, he has a massive chance and is drawn in 19 which is absolutely pitch perfect. E/W.
