MASEKELA 4/1 generally – 1 POINT WIN
Oisin Murphy has been in great form today and Andrew Balding was also in the winners enclosure a couple of times. On soft ground tomorrow MASEKELA has to have a great chance. An easy winner on debut at Goodwood, on soft ground, tells me he will love conditions here. What I liked about the performance was the fact it was a hands and heels ride, where Oisin Murphy didn’t have to use his whip. He looked to have lots left in the locker. WIN.

LIGHT REFRAIN 11/1 generally – 1 POINT E/W (5 places, 1/5 odds)
LIGHT REFRAIN looks like a cracking bet here at a big price. Her last 3 runs have all been on soft ground and she has not run a bad race on the ground with that form reading, 214. Her last start was in a group 2 at Haydock when 4th to Rohaan and Dragon Symbol back in 2nd. That horse was first past the post in the Commonwealth Cup today so that piece of form now looks very hot. The step up to 7f should bring out further improvement as she always stays on at the end of her races, over 6f. Tom Marquand takes the ride and I have no doubt she will go off shorter. E/W.
