EDITEUR DE GITE 3/1 generally – 1.5 POINTS WIN
EDITEUR DU GITE is my NAP of the day and surely this Gary Moore trained horse goes very close. He just loves it around Cheltenham with 2 wins last November and December, as well as a 4th in the Grand Annual Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. He was pulled up on his last start of last season but that was in the Grade 1 Marsh Chase at Aintree where he was simply outclassed. In a race of this sort, he just looks like a horse who will have too much class for the field and even the top weight is not a worry to me when looking through the mediocre opposition. He is a very sound jumper and you just know he is going to front run and play catch me if you can. The others will not have a chance to make any mistakes against a horse like EDITEUR DE GITE and I am quietly confident he wins this race. WIN.

THE WOLF 9/1 Ladbrokes, Bet 365, Bet Victor – 0.5 POINTS E/W
Every man and his dog are backing The Hollow Ginge in this race and he may well be primed for this race given he was 2nd in this race last year off a 10lb higher mark of 137. He lines up this year off 127 but the trouble is since his 2nd in this race last year, he has not shown a thing. You could hardly back him at a short price given his inconsistency.
Instead it could pay to side with THE WOLF at a decent price who although is carrying 11st 10lb, he rarely runs a bad race. He will be kept at the back of the field and slowly brought into the race. He was 2nd at Cheltenham in January and clearly showed a liking to the course that day. He is now rated 138 which could still be lenient as this year as an 8 year old, he should be at his very peak. I just think he is one of the classiest horses in the field and the race could be run at a pace which will suit a hold up horse. At 9/1 he offers fantastic value and THE WOLF should make this frame at the very least. E/W.
Good Luck
