PUNCHESTOWN Festival day 2

No joy on yesterdays free tip with Brazil. Mark Walsh had him right at the back of the field and from that position I knew early on he wouldn’t be winning. Not sure why he didn’t have him a bit closer and possibly they have bigger plans later on down the line and are looking after his handicap mark.
You can still sign up for the remaining 4 days of the Punchestown Festival for £12.99 and get access to all our tips, including todays which will be sent to you immediately.

BRAVEMANSGAME 9/2 generally – 1 POINT WIN
Some will call me mad taking on Galopin Des Champs and just maybe I am a bit mad but hear me out. Firstly let’s start with Galopin Des Champs who if truth be told I have nothing bad to say about. He has it all and was so impressive in the Gold Cup. He is going to be very hard to beat here but at 4/11 Galopin Des Champs and 9/2 Bravemansgame, over a shorter trip and a right handed course, BRAVEMANSGAME looks cracking value at the prices.
The Gold Cup trip is 3m 2f so this race is 2f shorter, something which will suit BRAVEMANSGAME. In the Gold Cup they both jumped the last together and it was only up the hill that Galopin Des Champs went away. Admittedly Galopin was travelling all over BRAVEMANSGAME but back to a right handed course, just maybe this could be the Paul Nicholls horse best chance.
He was a winner of the King George Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day over 3 miles and just like Punchestown it is a right handed course.
Punchestown really should suit BRAVEMANSGAME better than Cheltenham and in particular the shorter 3 miles.
We know his jumping is foot perfect and if ever he is going to beat Galopin, it will be at a course like Punchestown or Kempton when the emphasis is a bit more on speed than staying.
He obviously has it all to do and I wouldn’t say I am confident he can beat Galopin, as the reality is he probably won’t, but at 9/2 there is enough value for me to want to get involved. WIN.
Good Luck
