BIRCHWOOD is going to take all the beating here. He is rated the best horse in the race by the handicapper at 110 but gets no penalty so is at least 3lb well in with his nearest rival. You have only got to look at the horses form to see how hard he is going to be to get beat. BIRCHWOOD ran in 5 Group 1 – 3 last season and although he didn’t win he wasn’t disgraced behind the likes of Limato, Dutch Connection and Nemoralia. For me that form is simply to strong. It is also worth pointing out that the only time he stepped out of group company last year was at Chester and he won in convincing style. Today he drops back to that same level. At 7/2 I am happy to get involved as I make him 9/4 favourite. WIN.
