Royal Ascot – The Final Fling with Architect Tips

It has been a fabulous week at this years most famous flat meeting. We round off with the final day of the five day meeting and here’s a quick preview of each race.

2.30 – Chesham Stakes

A lot of unexposed, potential group horses line-up and the market is headed by SEPTEMBER, who was so impressive on debut when winning by five lengths. She is clearly held in high regard but doesn’t represent any value having had just one run. She takes on the likes of WESTERLAND, NYALETI, MASAR and OPTIMUM TIME, who all won last time out and are very much ones to note. This is a race that doesn’t look worth betting if I am honest but if i had to, I would rather look at something around the 10/1 mark for each-way purposes instead of the red hot favourite. My advice, stay clear of the contest.

3.05 – Wolferton Handicap

I like a lot of runners in this race and it should turn out to be a very good race. KHAIRAAT heads the market having won three on the bounce since debut. The horse won by a impressive four lengths in a class 2 last time out and he could turn out to be a group horse. However, the price looks too short at 4/1 for my liking despite his progressive profile and one that I really fancy here is ELBERETH, who is as consistent at they come and ran a belt to finish a close-up fourth in the Coronation Cup. His high draw in stall 16 looks really positive and the fast ground will play to his strengths. There is a few others that have some sort of chance but ELBERETH looks the each-way value in the race.

3.40 – Hardwicke Stakes

A classy renewal of the Hardwick Stakes and there is so much value in the contest. DARTMOUTH heads the market and will be all the rage representing the Queen colours. He takes on the likes of MY DREAM BOAT, WESTERN HYMN, IDAHO and many more. I think this is one of the toughest races to solve and I would advice to very cautious on what you choose to back. Either way, it will be a very good race to watch and I may have a selection for the race tomorrow.

4.20 – Diamond Jubilee Stakes

Some brilliant horses over the years have won this. BLACK CAVIAR, SOLDIERS TALE, STARSPANGLEDBANNER and last year’s winner TWILIGHT SON. I have looked through the race in good detail and if everything is spot on with LIMATO, he should take a lot of beating. He’s the highest rated at 122 and Ryan Moore in the saddle is further interest. I won’t be giving out a selection on here but I will be for members, and other horses who have good each-way chances are DANCING STAR, LIBRISA BREEZE, TASLEET and THE RIGHT MAN. This should be a furiously run race over the 6f trip and it’s the highlight on the final day of the meeting.

5.00 – Wokingham Stakes

As many know, I love these big handicaps which have so much value and if you land this then you have basically paid for the week. I could make a case for most of these runners who have pretty good chances and high draw numbers do seem to have an advantage over the low numbers, which is worth noting. I always think it’s best having two bets in these big fields and priced over 16/1. I will most likely be doing that for this race tomorrow and hopefully the high drawn numbers can keep the trend on track.

5.35 – Queen Alexandra Stakes

The longest race of the week to round off the day comes over 2m5f and interestingly, THOMAS HOBSON won in the week under Ryan Moore but he rides US ARMY RANGER for his boss. Connections must feel he will stay the trip which is worth noting. Although, 6/1 does seem a little short for win purposes. VENT DE FORCE looks the type to appreciate the trip, along with FUN MAC who has been well supported this week. Nearly all of these are unproven over this trip except ORIENTAL FOX, who is the only C&D winner but could be vulnerable to something who will love this distance. I might play a hand in the race but I haven’t got a strong opinion on anything at the moment.

Enjoy your Saturday and best of luck what you choose to bet.
