Are you ready for York Ebor 2022?

£12.99 for 4 days of top class action

When the lights are on the big stage – WE PERFORM

Another big festival will be shortly upon us with York Ebor and other than Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood, it is the biggest festival of the flat season. Over the 4 days they host a whopping 10 group races and a host of competitive handicaps.

We smashed the Newmarket July Festival out of the park with 28 points profit and are in red hot form with our festivals. That has been the case in all of 2022 with the festivals, if truth be told, profit after profit.

Here are our festival results in 2022 so far:

Cheltenham Festival = 2 points profit

Aintree Festival = 2 points profit

Punchestown Festival = 5 points profit

Guineas Weekend Festival = 12 points profit

Chester Festival = 1 points profit

York Dante Festival = 7 points loss

Derby Weekend Festival = 10 points profit

Royal Ascot Festival = 2 points profit

Newmarket July Festival = 28 points profit

Glorious Goodwood Festival = 2 points loss

That is 10 festivals to date in 2022 and we have made profit in 8 of them, coming away with 53 points profit.

The truth of it is that our record is much better than 8 out of the last §0 and we have been running festivals for many years and the actual record at festivals stands at 110 festivals in profit from 133 over the last 7 years. Some record that is and why we have many customers who call JPW, The Festival King.

Next up is the York Ebor Festival. A festival which runs for 4 days between 17th August and 20th August. Over the 4 days we have a massive 10 group races along with some very competitive handicaps, the type of races we love. We produced some nice winners at Royal Ascot at 18/1 and 16/1 in the big handicaps and at Newmarket we produced winners at 28/1 and 11/1 in big handicaps, York Ebor will be no different with some real beauties lined up.

It is a festival we have done well at in the last making profit in 6 of the last 7 years and confidence as always is extremely high.

I am once again siding with BLESS HIM as it is going to come off one of these days at a nice price. He ran a cracking race drawn on the wrong side of the course. He travelled very well as he always does but I think Jamie Spencer held on to him far too long as once he sent him on his way, he flew home. If he had got to work sooner and found the gaps, he would have been much closer. Jamie Spencer is back on board here and you would have hoped he would have learned from the last race and will not leave it quite so late this time. As I always say the faster the ground the better for BLESS HIM and with the forecast 25C tomorrow, it is going to dry out lovely for him. Fingers crossed he can finally bring home the bacon, we have been waiting long enough. E/W.

4:45 Newmarket
CELSIUS 8/1 generally – 0.5 POINTS E/W (4 places, 1/5 odds)
CELSIUS is drawn down the middle and we saw today with Lethal Levi that it suits front runners. CELSIUS is going to be prominent judging by the way he won on his sole run of the season at Ascot in April, when winning easily enough. He has not been seen since but that has been down to the ground and he wants it as quick as he can get it. Given the forecast is hot dry weather the ground is only going to dry out further which will be music to the ears of trainer Tom Clover. He is now up to a handicap mark of 82 but I think he could still have more to give off that mark. E/W.

THESIS looks to be well handicapped on a mark of 90 with Ryan Moore on board carrying just 8st 11lb, right near the bottom of the handicap. He is trained by Roger Charlton and he is a trainer I respect in races like this. His form ties in well with My Prospero who THESIS finished 2nd to at Newbury back in April, beaten just 1 length. My Prospero was 3rd in the St James Palace Stakes and now rated 114 making the 90 mark for Thesis look very workable. Our selection has only had 4 career starts so is open to massive improvement. Although he is yet to win his form reads 3222 and it may be that a big field race at a very fast pace, is exactly what he wants. He is a big price and huge value. E/W.

We will start with last year’s winner ROHAAN who won this race virtually on the bridle 12 months ago. He was rated 112 when winning last year although he had a 7lb 3 year old claim so basically won off a mark of 105. ROHAAN is now rated 112 and will be ridden by Ryan Moore who is having an excellent week. He has had 5 winners so far and will be full of confidence. Given ROHAAN likes to be produced late, that confidence is going to be ideal for a horse like ROHAAN. The only negative is possibly the ground but given the price it is worth taking the chance on last year’s winner. Also has a very nice draw.
