A PIECE OF HEAVEN 7/1 WINNER
I have had A PIECE OF HEAVEN high on my list for around a week and I have just been waiting for the draw. I am delighted he has stall 1, although he cannot afford to blow the start from stall 1. I reviewed his last 5 runs to see how quickly he starts; overall, he breaks well so I don’t anticipate a problem.
Once he is out and hopefully leading or at least prominent, he will have a big advantage over the field because all he does is stay.
If we go back to the 2024 season, he finished 2nd in the Irish Cesarewitch to The Euphrates and all he did that day was stay on all the way to the line. Since that race, he has had problems off the track, he ran once last July, then had another 210 days off the track. He returned over hurdles at Thurles in February and then on the All Weather at Dundalk. Last time out he finished an excellent 2nd to the decent Layfayette last month.
A PIECE OF HEAVEN has been trained for this race, will come here a seriously fit horse after 3 starts since February and I think he will end up being the favourite.
Joseph O’Brien has 3 horses in this race so he is trying hard to win it but A PIECE HEAVEN gets my vote. E/W.
 
3:40 Chester
ROSENPUR 6/1 WINNER
I have gone through all the low-drawn runners, and many have ‘dwelt start,’ ‘slowly away,’ and so on. ROSENPUR in stall 5 should make them pay and hopefully lead all the way. He is a front runner, he is fast away from the gates and he absolutely loves it around Chester. His form at Chester reads 7223101. From 7 starts he has won two races and finished in the frame, a further three times. 
ROSENPUR loves fast ground which he will get here. He is rated 80 by the handicapper which I think is well within reach. I am expecting a big run and although they will be closing in on the line, I am hopeful he can hang on. E/W.
