April 2018 Review

21 Points Profit in April alone

We’ve prepared our April 2018 Review in high spirits, having just had another profitable month. The year just keeps getting better and better.

This month we came away with an excellent 21 points profit.

That takes us to 51 points profit for 2018 and we have a 100% record in 2018 with four winning months in a row.

Want to see what else we’ve achieved in 2018? Take a look at our Results.

In 2018 we have a strike rate of 28% and a ROI of 14.5%.

So far this year our biggest winners have been priced at 28/1, 20/1, 20/1, 16/1, 14/1, 12/1, 11/1, 10/1, 10/1.

The month was action packed which included the Aintree Festival and Punchestown Festival and we came away with some decent profit at both festivals.

Total number of winners in April = 21 winners

Total number of E/W returns = 12 E/W returns

Highlight of the month

The highlight of the month for members would be ULTRAGOLD at 20/1 advised the night before in the Topham Chase. How he was available at 20/1 after winning the race the year before, I will never know. We fully capitalised on the price available and ULTRAGOLD was given a great ride by Harry Cobden to win the race for the 2nd consecutive year.

My personal highlight was seeing FAUGHEEN win the stayers hurdle at the Punchestown Festival. We were on at 10/1 the night before as I always thought he was 3 miler despite winning 2 Champion Hurdles. Obviously it crossed my mind that he was finished at the game but at 10/1 he was worth the risk. What a performance it was from the front and he virtually won on the bridle. He is not getting any younger but to win by 13 lengths at the ripe old age of 10, with the stayers hurdle winner from Cheltenham Penhill absolutely annihilated. He can afford to lose 10 lengths of ability next season and still beat that horse. He is not getting any younger but it is exciting to see how he comes back.

Horses We Are Looking Forward to Next Season?

We obviously have the most talked about horses like Samcro, Footpad, Might Bite and Native River but I have 2 horses who I think are going to be very good horses next season away from the big ones.

TERREFORT was exceptional at Aintree and that was his first start over 3 miles. I think people have underestimated his performance at Aintree and are forgetting that this horse is only a 5 year old. For a 5 year old to put in a display like he did was a big deal for me. He should improve massively over the summer. He will strengthen up more and be an even more mature horse next year. He obviously excelled at 3 miles at Aintree and I don’t see why he can’t be a leading player in Cheltenham Gold Cup next year. Presenting Percy won the RSA very impressively and was installed as the 6/1 favourite. TERREFORT won the Grade 1 Mildmay Chase impressively yet was installed in the Cheltenham Gold Cup at 66/1 with Paddy Power, which I think is absolutely huge. For a horse who is only 5 and will improve massively next season 66/1 is ridiculous.

SANTINI is a horse who I am very much looking forward next season. He is a huge horse who, whatever he done over hurdles, was a bonus as he is built for chasing. He won at Aintree in the Grade 1 Sefton Novice Hurdle and is a horse who I think will go on to massive things. A Gold Cup winner in the making.

What does May have in store?

Now that the National Hunt season is over the Flat season really kicks in. I am very much looking forward to the Flat season. A new challenge I have set myself is to beat my previous best Flat season which was 118 point profit back in 2015. I am focussed and determined on the task ahead. I have 10 years tipping experience behind me and I know what it takes and what I have to do to achieve that.

The big fixtures in May
